Have you been struggling to keep up with your new year’s resolutions? Have you been putting up with an over crowded gym with good people like yourself wanting to improve their health and fitness? Or are you currently looking for something fun to do that will get you out of the house and make new friends? Perhaps it’s time you thought about giving Rugby a go.
Rugby is a sport that has something for everyone and as Sheffield’s Premier inclusive Rugby club, the Sheffield Vulcans believe that joining a club like ours is a great way to improve your fitness, make new friends, and be part of a team that is working towards a common goal.
So why should you consider rugby? Here are a few reasons for you to consider.
First, Ruby is a great form of excercise. The game requires players to run, tackle, and scrum, which all provide a great cardio workout. It also helps to build strength and endurance, as players are constantly pushing and pulling against each other.
Second, Rugby is a sport that is built on camaraderie and teamwork. The game requires players to work together to move the ball up the field and to defend against the opposing team. This creates a sense of community and belonging that is hard to find in other sports.
Third, Rugby is a sport that is open to players of all sizes and skill level. Whether you are big or small, fast or slow, there is always a position for you on the pitch. The sport also encourages players to develop their skills, as there is always room for improvement.
Lastly, Rugby is a sport that is played all over the world. Joining a Rugby club gives you the opportunity to travel to and play against other teams from other countries and cultures. This is also a great way to expand your horizons and to make friends from all over the world.
In conclusion, joining a Rugby club is a great way to improve your fitness, make new friends, and be part of a team that is working towards a common goal. As Vulcans we champion inclusion and firmly believe that Rugby is a sport that is open to players of all sizes and skill levels. We understand it can be daunting to give your local club a go which is why we’re excited to be hosting two Welcome Sessions up at our current home at Sheffield Tigers RUFC on Tuesday 24th and Tuesday 31st January.
If you are interested in joining a club whose core values are Inclusivity, Respect, Enjoyment and Sportsmanship, we’d love to see you up at Dore Moor where you will be welcomed into our community and our Rugby family. In return we will help you improve your fitness, you’ll get the opportunity to travel across the UK and beyond and you’ll make life-long friends in the process.
